Storytelling with Musqa
Jack and Cooper Hilworth listen to the story “How the Mouse Got Brown Teeth” read by Judy and Roy “Musqua” Louis during a storytelling session at the Heritage Gala Weekend. In addition to reading the children’s story, the couple taught the audience how to count to ten in Cree and a little bit about Cree culture.
Six-year-old Jack Hilworth is honoured with the opportunity to try on the headdress of Roy “Musqua” Louis of the Samson Cree Nation during the Heritage Gala Weekend at the Sawridge Inn and Conference Centre on Nov. 12, 2005. Musqua is Louis’ Cree name meaning bear.
