Bundling Aboriginal Experiences
Alberta’s aboriginal tourism sector is quickening its quest to roll out ‘bundles’ of experiences by Spring 2006.
Banff’s Buffalo Nations Museum is collaborating with the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) to train and produce four native interpreters that will offer daily tours starting in the spring. With the assistance of the linguistics department at the University of Alberta, they’ve also recorded numerous aboriginal voices, which Estelle Guthro, general manager of the museum, hopes will keep alive the oral traditions that are vital to the preservation of aboriginal culture.
